The Sikkha Asia Foundation was established in Thailand in 1979 by a volunteer group called JSRC (Japan Sotoshu Relief Committee), which later changed its name to the SVA (Santi Volunteer Association), or Peace Volunteer Association. This private organization aims to help people in many Asian countries. In Thailand, it began by helping Cambodian immigrants at Khao I Dang in the Aranyaprathet District of Sa Kaeo Province in areas such as education, culture, Buddhism, and vocational training. After achieving a certain level of success, the Peace Volunteer Association began helping children and youth in slum areas of Bangkok.
On May 11, Act Now team visited the Sikkha Asia Foundation in the Klongtoei slum to distribute the materials. We supported them with educational supplies such as pencil cases, color pencils, drawing books, etc. In addition, we provided musical instrument like conga drum and tambourine, A4 paper, color poster paper, marker pen, etc. as for the supplies of long-term activities.
