Tak Project 2023

27 Nov 2023

Tak is the biggest project of 2023. In this year, Act Now provided assistance to 9 organizations in Mae Sot District, Tak Province. According to the political issues in Myanmar, many people and families flee to Thailand. Children have to run away from the gunfire, some of them have to be separated from their families. These organizations have dealt with the number of children that has been continuously increasing each year since the coup d'etat in 2019. Act Now collaborate with Mae Tao Clinic, Burmese Migrant Teachers’ Association, Burmese Migrant Workers’ Education Committee, Karen Education and Culture Department, Global Child Advocates, Life Impact Thailand, Tak Border Child Assistance Foundation, Hsa Thoo Lei Foundation, and Help Without Frontiers. The main need in this project is about nutrition.

We supported it through dry food programs such as rice, tin fish, and cooking oil. Moreover, we provided hygiene kits including soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, detergent, etc. These items are essential for children in boarding houses. Act Now has concerned about the physical development, so we support them with U.H.T. milk to young children in migrant learning centers and formula milk to the newborn who is malnutrition or orphans. As for the Education, we support them with school supplies such as computers, study desks, stationery, notebook, Act Now backpack, sports equipment, and development toys. All the stuff was distributed to our partners between November 27 – December 2, 2023, and the number of children of our assistance in this project reached 51,648 children. We hope that our support will encourage the children to live, learn and seek a brighter future.
