Chiang Rai Province is located in northern Thailand and is the country’s northernmost province. The Act Now team conducted a field survey of small schools from June 30 to July 4, 2025, covering three districts: Thoeng, Chiang Khong, and Mueang Chiang Rai. In total, 17 schools were surveyed, serving 2,113 students. The survey identified several challenges, most notably the urgent lack of clean and sufficient water for daily use. Most schools depend on groundwater or nearby water sources; however, the water quality often fails to meet safety standards and may pose health risks to students and staff. Additional needs were found in the areas of education, nutrition, and hygiene. In response, support was provided across all three areas through supplies and financial assistance, including televisions, playground equipment, water filtration systems, and funding for groundwater well drilling.
The distribution of supplies took place between September 15 and 19, 2025. This support has played a significant role in improving school conditions and supporting the overall development of the participating schools.
